This will allow quicker checking of cheats and make sure all cheats can be included in the cheat file till they are fully checked and placed in a more suitable position.ĥ. After the '# END OF MAIN CHEATS' marker in the cheat file if it happens across any cheats for games that it has already encountered in the main cheat file body it should place a untested cheats comment cheat before it and place it directly after the game's cheat entries in the main cheat file body.

This has the nice effect of creating a placeholder and also gives the user a more useful description of why there are no cheats for that game.Ĥ. A method of inserting a few comment cheats for games with no cheats based on the contents of the 'games with no cheats' list in the correct place in the cheat file. No changes are made to the original cheat file, which is nice but can lead to a lot of pointless work.like changing over 200 long game names! It is not open source and it's no longer updated (the biggest problem!)ħ. It can't handle the new cheat format at allĦ. It can't handle long gamenames with more than 60 characters in the long name.ĥ. It can't count the number of cheats past 65535 (I'm guessing the number it may be 32767). It can't handle '' in the long gamenameģ. It can't handle more than approx 3100 gamesĢ. It has the following bugs/problems (as many as I can recall):-ġ. In simple terms, it will look through a cheat file and using a mame.exe it will point out errors in the longname, unreckonised games (short gamename has changed or game has been removed), make sure that all games are alphabetically sorted, it will check that there is no errors in the cheatfile eg a O where it should be an 0 (though it only checks old format cheats and reports errors with every new cheat format cheat - it has spotted a fair few errors in the past!), it counts the number of cheats (-comment cheats) that the cheat file holds and most importantly it makes a list of games with no cheats. Indicates misplaced (or misnamed) cheats. Clearly says what is wrong for each bad cheat. Can individually test each field of each cheat.
